I want to thank you for being a part of my journey. And I want to share this milestone in it with you.
But I also want to share where this all began.
I had read professionally for many years on various networks, in chat rooms, and privately, it was a chance conversation with another psychic in a chat room giving a reading, just chatting with people, trading off-stream in between calls that put me on this journey.
We worked for different networks, but she made a comment about this newer network, suggested that I should join.
I submitted an application. Sat wondering about the normal what-ifs that come with any new opportunity. And waited.
And then the email arrived, “Welcome to Keen,” it said.
A simple email, one letting me know my application was accepted and I could begin taking calls.
I excitedly planned my day after work. Stopping at Goodwill to pick up a used computer, a monitor, a desk, and a chair. $150 bucks, plus another stop at Walmart for a phone cord to run to the basement of my town home later, I was a ready to login and chat with my first Keen client.
At the time I was still working a 9-5 job that paid the bills but did not feed to the soul. The second night of taking calls and drinking a lot of coffee, my partner came down with a stack of index cards. We planed out my life, my new life. With a marker, index cards, and masking tape on the walls. We planned when I would work that normal job, when I would sleep, when I would eat, how I would absorb this new opportunity. I jokingly said, “you know, one day, I might have to quit my 9-5.”
He looked me dead in the eye and said, “are you serious?”
“Yeah, this network is busier than the other one, A LOT busier.”
He said,” okay, when you make $250 for three weeks straight, then I will let you think about quitting, but not until then.”
And that day came, a little more than three weeks later, on December 7th.
Through the following years, this journey brought each of us together. We have laughed and cried; I have witnessed you find love, joy, and happiness; I have seen you get married and have a baby; I have helped you through divorces and breakups; been there for you as you have changed jobs and found careers and calling you love.
It has been an amazing 15 years on Keen, and it’s been my joy to walk with all of you. From the ones, I met in year one, to those of you I just met yesterday. You have all made this journey amazing and I want to thank you for walking with me then, now, and for many tomorrow to come.
