Tarot Classes

The Tarot is a symbolic map of consciousness that encompasses our journey through life, both spiritually and practically. Tarot reading is the practice of divining wisdom and guidance through a specific spread (or layout) of Tarot cards. Contrary to popular belief, however, the cards do not simply tell your fortune. One does not need to be a psychic to benefit from learning to read Tarot. The cards are meant to provide insight into the innermost truths of your higher self. In other words, the cards provide an evolved awareness of what you already know deep within.

For those who have psychic gifts, the cards are a tool that may allow them to quickly form a connection to a person, the cards are only one part of the information being received and the types of information that they receive may go beyond the specific questions or situations under discussion.

Don’t let this put you off, even without psychic gifts, anyone can use Tarot reading to gain insight and clarity about the issues and concerns in their life and the lives of others.

For each of the Tarot classes, you will need to make sure you have a deck of Rider-Waite Tarot cards. The oldest, least expensive, and most common deck of Tarot Cards that there is, this deck is excellent for use from novice to the seasoned professional tarot reader. To ensure student success in classes, and to prevent the distraction of trying to custom fit the class materials and explanations to any number of Tarot decks, Aeson does require that students use this deck specifically. While there are many different decks and what you may end up using after class might not be this deck, much of understanding how to read the Tarot is based on understanding the imagery, symbolism, and meanings that the cards possess.

What?! You thought learning Tarot was going to involve memorizing a giant book? That the cards were just a bunch of pretty pictures?

No!  While Aeson will ask a lot of you as his student, he won’t ask for rote memorization of an endless array of card meanings. His classes focus on understanding Tarot, on seeing the connections that the cards and spreads make, and the way that they work with or against each other to form meaningful answers to your questions and situations.

Intro to Tarot

The Death Card means you’re going to die, right? WRONG!

One of the most common myths surrounding Tarot, among so many others, has to do with the bad rap Tarot has been given. From Tarot cards summoning demons, to the evergreen the Death Card means you are going to die. An Introduction to Tarot Aeson helps you understand a little bit about how Tarot works, what it works for, and is always happy to work through those fun bits of trivia and myth that surround the pretty much harmless tarot deck. (We’ll investigate and see, but we’re like 100% sure that the only way a Tarot deck ever hurt someone involved paper cuts and that one time a very annoyed Tarot reader shoved one down a person’s throat. The box of Tarot cards were fine, but the Heckler, eh, not so much.)

Intro to Tarot is a sampler class, allowing you a quick look at basic one-card and three-card reading, including a brief overview of the tarot deck. This class is a favorite of those who aren’t sure what they aren’t sure about. For some it’s a great way to learn a little bit about a subject they are completely unfamiliar with, for others it’s a great opportunity to see whether taking Tarot 101/102 is right for them and to see if Aeson’s teaching style works for them.

Intro to Tarot is not a pre-requisite for Tarot 101/102 and has no pre-requisite to take.

Course material will be provided including a course manual.

NOTE: Students must have a deck of Rider-Waite Tarot Cards!

The journey of the Fools: Level I Intensive

Upside down means the opposite, right? Well, that depends. While many may describe reversed tarot cards as having an “opposite” meaning, that isn’t exactly true. This kind of understanding of the Tarot concludes the Journey of the Fool and prepares you for the world of professional readings.

This class will explore reversed meanings of the Tarot, patterns and hidden meanings within those patterns, and allow you to complete your journey of the Fool. We will also be learning two new spreads.
